WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Anabrez 1mg is used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is often prescribed as part of hormone therapy to prevent the recurrence or spread of breast cancer.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Anabrez contains Anastrozole, an aromatase inhibitor. It works by reducing estrogen levels in the body, a hormone that can promote the growth of certain types of breast cancer cells.

HOW TO USE?
Take one tablet of Anabrez 1mg once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water at the same time each day. Follow your doctor’s prescription strictly.

SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Hot flashes, joint pain, weakness, mood changes, bone thinning
Rare: Liver dysfunction, allergic reactions, chest pain
Report any persistent or severe side effects to your doctor promptly.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as remembered. If it’s near the time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Not recommended for premenopausal women or pregnant women

  • Use with caution in individuals with osteoporosis or liver problems

  • Regular bone density monitoring may be advised during treatment

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Seek immediate help if you experience:

  • Shortness of breath

  • Severe bone or chest pain

  • Signs of a blood clot (leg swelling, sudden vision changes)

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you're taking:

  • Estrogen-containing therapies

  • Tamoxifen (can reduce Anabrez’s effectiveness)

  • Other hormonal treatments or osteoporosis medications
    Always disclose all current medications to avoid interactions.

FOOD RESTRICTIONS
No specific food restrictions. Can be taken with or without food. Avoid alcohol to reduce the risk of liver-related side effects.

HOW TO STORE
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

PREGNANCY CATEGORY
Category X – Contraindicated in pregnancy. Can cause harm to the fetus. Not for use in women of childbearing potential without effective contraception.
